A different scene every week.
One of the great joys for me is to recreate and photograph prototypical scenes on my model railway. Engine smoke/steam effects have been added to the photograph of the model. Apart from that they are true images of the model.
I start this new weekly series with Crewkerne, the inspiration for my Misterton layout.
The Prototype:
An S15 up passenger train entering Crewkerne Station on 26/07/1958.

The Model:
An S15 up passenger train seen from a similar viewpoint.
The station building canopy and footbridge on my model are different. The canopy is modelled from the original prototype style before a flying brake block from a passing locomotive destroyed it in 1953! The footbridge is based on Axminster, somewhat similar to the first Crewkerne installation.
